This is a blog dedicated to the music scene in McHenry County Illinois and the surrounding counties. There is excellent entertainment surrounding us that many people don't know exists. Also, there are many bands in the area that are just plain bad .. but sometimes this can be entertaining ... in a weird sort of way. You're invited to respond, disagree and argue and maybe turn me on to some bands that nobody else know about. Let's see what happens.

So Long, Duke's Grill
Just read in the paper at http://www.pioneerlocal.com/wauconda/news/743995,wk-dukes-011708-s1.article that Duke's Grill in Wauconda has closed its doors. This was a great place and another place that featured live bands. Kevin Purcel and Pez and the Dispensers and many others played there. It's really a shame to see Duke go. Competition has been getting pretty tough in town with Docks, Lindy's Landing, TJ Twigs and Lakeside Inn all having live music. To tell you the truth, Wauconda is now starting to get quite the rep as a town for live music. However, it's very sad to see Duke leave and I certainly wish him the best!
