This has been a good week end! I saw a great blues/rock band at Porters last night and an absolutely SUPERB 50s/60s retro-rock rockabilly band at Duke's : Rick Lindy and The Wild Ones . This is one of the best bands I have ever seen at Duke's and I certainly hope they come back!
This is one hell of a great band. The vocals are GREAT and .... I have to say it ... almost beautiful! Lindy sings in tune even in some difficult passages and registers. I was impressed to say the least. But it doesn't stop there. The Telecaster player was very good and the drums/bass guitar team was tight and seamless.
I had to leave Dukes for a short time but had to come back to catch some more. It was a terrible night out weather-wise and I know how it is to play to a very small audience on nights like this. But even so, they presented themselves like the professionals they are.
Check out the band's web site and look at the experience this band has and keep the name of this band in mind. Your assignment is to see Rick Lindy and The Wild Ones the very next time you have the chance!
