Now here's a band! It's hard to say but on the Bandstalker rating system, they may be a cross between Class A and Pro. They know how to get the job done. One song flows into the next seamlessly. Their banter can be a little funky. They do the songs they do in their own way and I really really liked their takes and arrangements. They consist of guitar, bass and drums with a lead singer and they have a very full sound. They are excellent players. They are not afraid to tackle any song with just guitar, bass and drums.
Cat Fight is pure professionalism. This was the first time I've seen them. I need to see them again in a bar as they may have been behaving themselves in front of an outside mixed festival crowd. If they did make an effort to behave themselves, they did a great job.
They also played a great mix of songs. There played many guy-sung songs and sounded great doing it. They didn't do the normal mix of what I think are stupid girl-sung songs you so often hear virtually all female singers do. They were hard-driving and aggressive. I must say also that the singer was the best singer I heard at both the Lakeside Fest and the Gala Fest. Her pitch was right-on on virtually every note she sung. She was GREAT!
Go see these ladies. They are worth every cent of admission and worth every mile you travel to go see them. There are a lot of very good bands doing the circuits right now and this band is better that most all of them I've seen. Go see them! http://www.catfightband.com/
